A New Year is a time for concentrated commitment to Positive new action. Please join us for a balanced asana practice which will warm, soften and open the pranic channels of the body and mind, leaving it ripe and ready to participate and receive the Diving Songs of Kirtan.
YOGA ASANA PRACTICE

The theme of this 2-hour asana class is Winter Balancing. Bringing in the Ayurvedic themes of time and the seasons, this class will bring balance to the qualities of each of us that may be impacted by the elements of winter. This class will also balance challenging aspects of asana with a softness and serenity that will make it accessible to all levels of practitioners. Through our collective practice and intentions, lets together welcome the dawn of a new year. May this year bring peace and freedom to all.

Kirtan is the chanting of mantras in a group of people. Usually it is practiced in a call and response fashion.The kirtan leader sings a certain mantra and the group sings it back. This ancient yogic practice was traditionally accompanied with Indian instruments. In the hands and voices of contemporary practitioners, Kirtan has been transported beautifully to all cultural and musical styles without losing its genuine spiritual authenticity. Weaving together melody, music and mantra with people responding to the words of the singer, clapping, swaying and sometimes dancing, Kirtan is simultaneously a meditative, exhilarating and fun activity. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of love, oneness and compassion through an evening of music. All are welcomed to either participate or to simply observe and enjoy!
